To the People of the Wagener Community.
As the Fire Chief, I want to personally give everyone an update on what is happening with the fire department. The Firefighters are still working hard on all their academy certifications. We are busy working on fundraisers for the department. The department will have the first Trunk or Treat community event on October 31, 2025.
Hollow Creek and Couchton fire departments are joining with us to provide mutual aid as needed. We are responding to calls that come in for structure fires and motor vehicle accidents.
We are unable to respond to medical calls currently, but we will assist Medical 4 with calls when they need assistance.
Please don’t believe anything that is being put out from sources other than straight from the department. Unfortunately, we did have a couple of people join, and we had to part ways with each other due to political conflicts. We wish them the best and hope that we can all work together in the future. I have given my word that we will not have any politics interfering with the department and we are trying hard to form a strong family bond with the team. I truly appreciate the team that has come together to form the department. There has been a lot of missed communication, and we are trying hard to be transparent with the community.
We are still open to new members that wish to join the department. As Fire Chief, I will ask the community to all work together to move forward and put everything from the past behind us. We have much respect for previous chiefs and members of the Wagener Fire Department and we are working hard to build the strong family community that they had.
