July 9 -Ruth Patrick Science Center.  Learn about the local ecology with live animals.

July 16 - Porkchop Productions Presents Stone Soup.  A play that will have you rolling in the floor with laughter!

Allen Williams Retires from WSHS

After more than thirty years at Wagener Salley High School, Mr. Allen Williams has retired.  An honorary luncheon was served Sunday as hundreds came to wish him well, thank him for his work and tell stories of how he influenced lives.  Visit the Aiken Standard for the full story.  

Williams is a living example of his personal FFA motto:  Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.  Williams is one of many in a long line of men of character and integrity who have permanently influenced many lives through both the FFA and the vocational agriculture departments at WSHS.  Roy Warner preceded Spencer Smith as the WSHS vocational ag teacher and was a mentor to Smith.  "The agriculture program is a means of teaching rural leadership," claims Smith, to create good rural and state leaders alike.  As Smith credits Warner, Williams credits Smith, claiming that his success is due to Smith's strong foundation.

WSHS Softball at Home Upper State Championship Game

The start of the Upper State Championship Tournament will be held at Wagener Salley Saturday, May 9, 2015, 2:00 pm.  Come out and make some noise!  And don't leave early -- in the district playoff, we were never ahead until the 8th inning and then we won the game.   "There's no doubt in my mind we have the capability of going all the way."  Assistant Coach Brielle Busbee said.  "They never give up.  Even if they are down, they will keep on fighting."

CTFK Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Churches Together For Kids will hold their Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Sweetwater Golf Course in Barnwell.  This is a 4-Person Captain's Choice format with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.  Entry fee is $200 per team.  Check in is at 8:15 - 8:45.  Donuts, fruit, coffee and juice will be served during registration.  Fee includes cart, greens fee and range balls.

VBS at Rocky Grove Baptist Church

"To the Edge-Encounter the God of the Universe" VBS program will be held at Rocky Grove Baptist Church from Saturday June 13 - Wednesday June 17, 6 - 9 pm.  Classes are available for infants through Senior Adults.  Dinner is served nightly at 6:00 pm.  The church is located between Perry and Salley, SC just off Hwy. 39.  Turn on Rocky Grove Road at Felder's Garage.
