Dr. Raymond Bynoe on Trauma

Dr. Raymond Bynoe is a good man or most would say a great man, especially among the hundreds, or more like thousands of those (including many in our own community) alive today as a result of his surgical expertise. Dr. Bynoe is without a doubt one of the most skilled, competent and compassionate trauma surgeons in South Carolina and the entire USA. I feel fortunate that our paths crossed over 30 years ago, and so honored to know him as a true friend. I have many fond memories of the past, some good, some not so good, but certainly more than our share of some quite remarkable experiences. Keep up the good work and God Bless You Raymond!  ~ Mike Miller

Edisto River - Endangered American Rivers

The Edisto River is at risk due to unchecked water withdrawals allowed by South Carolina's current regulations.  This video explains what is happening right now with this endangered river.  We need to take action now to save our river.  Watch the video, then follow the links to petition our lawmakers to protect the Edisto River, America’s longest free-flowing blackwater river.

From AmericanRivers.org:  "The Edisto River is America’s longest free-flowing blackwater river. The river is home to gamefish, endangered sturgeon, swallow-tailed kite, and other magnificent fish and wildlife. Families from across the state enjoy the river for fishing, boating, and its renowned scenic beauty. South Carolina’s rivers, when clean and flowing, are worth billions of dollars to the state’s economy.

Rabid Fox Found in Wagener

A rabid fox was found and removed from Lakeshore Drive behind the Wagener-Salley High School, inside the town limits.  SC DHEC tested the deceased fox and confirmed rabies.  There should be no cause for alarm unless you or your unvaccinated pets may have come in contact with this or any animal exhibiting unusual behavior.  Failure to have your pets vaccinated for Rabies is a violation of SC state law as well as Wagener town ordinances. To prevent the spread of rabies and to protect yourself from a $1,000 fine, vaccinate your pets.

We've been having a problem with dogs running loose around town.  Our law enforcement will be enforcing laws and fines will be issued if pet owners can't prove rabies inoculation.  Pets found loose in town without a collar will be turned in to Aiken County animal control.

Keeping your pets vaccinated protects them, your neighbor's pets, your neighbors and yourself.  It is extremely important to vaccinate your pets.  House pets and pets on a chain or in a fence often escape and come in contact with other animals.  Even house pets and contained pets should always be vaccinated.

The Pet Care-A-Van will be in town Saturday 3/29 from 3:30 - 4:30. The Pet Care-A-Van offers your pet's shots at a discount price and comes to town once a month.
