Avalo Horsemanship Eventing and Cat Sanctuary

Avalo Farm, located on Highway 39 just outside the Wagener town limit, is a small private barn specializing in equine eventing and performance.  Avalo uses natural horsemanship to better the relationship between horse and human both on the ground and under saddle.  Avalo Cat Sanctuary is a non-profit cat sanctuary specializing in hybrid cats of all breeds and generations.

The global E waste recycling company, Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions with branches in the UK, Reno, NV and Salley, SC and has the state contract for all of South Carolina’s government commercial electronic waste disposal has recently acquired the residential contract for Aiken County.

To enable compliance with legislation passed in 2014 which requires the proper disposal of electronics (E waste), the Perry drop-off site for Aiken County Solid Waste now has a collection bin for your E waste (televisions, computers, monitors, printers, etc.)  Materials placed in this bin will be wiped clean, restored to manufacturer settings and sold or taken apart and recycled, both jobs performed by the sixty employees at the Lifecycle Solutions plant in Salley, a former sewing factory.

Lifecycle Solutions – US is primarily run by Graham Davy, Justin Amiro and John Amiro who travel back and forth among the sister plants in Reno and the UK.  The Salley plant began with seven employees three years ago and now has approximately 45 permanent employees and 15 additional temporary employees working three shifts daily Monday through Friday.  All employees are local South Carolina residents and the company offers health insurance coverage, an unusual perk for rural companies.
