Town Council meetings, open to the public, are held on the first Monday of each month, 6:30 pm at the Wagener Fire Department or outdoors at the Pavilion, weather permitting. During covid protocols and weather permitting, the meetings are held outdoors at the Pavilion.

If you are a citizen and speaking under citizens input, you MUST sign up at the door before entering and limit to 3 minutes.  If you are speaking more than 3 minutes or have something to present it must be put on the agenda.  It will need to be submitted to the Town Hall before 5pm on Thursday, the week before the meeting.  It may be submitted by email, phone, or in person. 

George Smith

Councilman

George A. Smith is a native of Wagener, South Carolina; he was born in Aiken County to James and Daisy Smith. He graduated from Ridge Hill High School in 1961 in Batesburg, South Carolina.

He furthered his education at Morris College Sumter, South Carolina. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1965, where he faithfully served his country for six years.

George Smith has been in Wagener city government for the past twenty six years and has served as mayor pro-tem as needed.

Randy Kitchings

Councilman

Randy Kitchings was voted to the town council in 2017. Kitchings is one of six born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Kitchings. He was raised in Wagener and attended Wagener-Salley High School. A graduate of Midland's Technical College, he retired from the UPS after 42 years. He is married to Dorcas Kitchings and has two sons, John and Randolph Kitchings.

Nyia N. Adams

Councilwoman

Nyia Adams began serving on the Wagener Town Council in January, 2024 and was sworn into office on January 8th.
