CTFK's Annual Back 2 School Bash

Churches Together for Kids (CTFK), a Wagener based ministry, had their Annual Back 2 School Bash on August 7, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. til noon at the former Wagener Manufacturing Building in Wagener, next to the Piggly Wiggly.

The Back 2 School Bash provides students with a bagful of school supplies and hygiene products.  Generally, over 800 students receive supplies such as colored pencils, notebooks, erasers, highlighters, crayons, glue sticks, etc.  The hygiene bags include shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.  These supplies are donated from individuals, businesses and churches.  Volunteers come together to pass out these supplies.  Often, churches both from in town and out of town use this as a mission trip, both to donate supplies and then to work at the event.    Everyone is welcome to attend the event and receive free materials.

The Back 2 School Bash also offers free services such as haircuts and health screenings.

 This is a large community event with over 1,000 attending each year.
